Our Mission for Juniors: The THJTA, now Terre Haute Tennis Association, is here for the children of our community to provide opportunities to help them succeed at learning tennis on their own at an affordable price. Since 1986 the THTA has provided tennis instruction at Honey Creek, Terre Haute North - South, West Vigo, Woodrow Wilson, and other sites. A tournament players program at North High School has been offered, and several USTA sanctioned tournaments and competition trips for our tournament level players has been offered yearly.
We employ over twenty young people during the summer months in Terre Haute. After the summer months the THTA provides practice balls, hoppers, roll dry equipment an other necessary materials to area middle and high schools to promote the game of tennis. The directors of the THJTA are tested and certified United States Tennis Association Professionals. Each has completed more than 100 hours of continuing educational instruction and attends at least one professional clinic per year.
We aren’t a here today gone tomorrow outfit. We live and breathe tennis for our community and are a non-profit 501 c3 organization that functions completely based on total participation and donations by individuals and corporations. We actually pay taxes, have insurance, and contribute back to our community.
We hope you will support our organization by participating first and contributing secondly, after you see the importance of the Terre Haute Tennis Association.
